Date: 11 Oct 2023

The UPL and Advanta team joined the show and promoted various products. The objective was to share our integrated approach and sustainable solutions from seeds to post-harvest. The UPL team advanced the proven quality of crop protection products such as Azamax, Macarena, Bellmac, Kosmos, and Fist Gold. For the seeds, it was a debut for the Alta Seeds sunflower hybrids and igrowth technology. The sunflower hybrids presented were HYSUN 228 and HYSUN 180 IT. Alta Seeds sunflower hybrids are recognized for their high oleic content, generating interest at the show. Sorghum crops, which were also promoted Jumbo Star and Mega Sweet, were very popular with farmers since sorghum is a relatively new crop in Turkey. Alta Seeds sorghum technologies were also showcased by Sorghum ID, a new organization that brings together various European sorghum stakeholders, from seed breeding to production and manufacturing. Sorghum ID is an inter-branch organization that aims to develop European sorghum production (grain – silage – energy) and its hybrid genetics through clear actions and promotion of sorghum crops. Alta Seeds was the only brand that successfully met the Sorghum ID criteria to showcase new technologies for the Turkish market. Sorghum ID presented three products from Alta Seeds' portfolio, including igrowth®. It is a technology that answers the ever-increasing problem of uncontrolled weed growth. Advanta has made a game-changing difference to sorghum farming. With igrowth®, Advanta assists weed control by reducing their usage of water and nutrients and preserving them for the sorghum crops. Igrowth® gives the farmers a chance to terminate the growth of weeds without adversely affecting the growth of crop plants, thus ensuring a higher and healthier yield. Overall, the "Agriculture and Technology Days" participation was very successful, and the team is already planning to participate next year.
