Advanta Seeds, a UPL group company, is committed to sustainability and contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals.
We are committed to contributing to UN Sustainable Development
Goals (SDGs) and the prosperity of smallholder farmers. The focus of Advanta Seeds is smallholder farmers who grow 80% of food for communities in Africa, Asia, and South America, and most often suffer from hunger and poverty.
To make a true impact we are embedding sustainability into our DNA. We are actively engaging our employees and community to create awareness and promote sustainable lifestyles.
Advanta Seeds was ranked by Access to Seeds Index 2019 as No. 4 in South and Southeast Asia, and No.5 in the world for contributing to UN Sustainable Development Goals by providing access to quality seeds to smallholder farmers. This inspired the Advanta team to get more engaged in sustainability and encourage all employees to live a more sustainable life.
At the meeting, Advanta’s sustainability action plan and the next steps were the focus with a clear alignment to UPL sustainability strategy. The plan also includes Advanta employees’ engagement whose great enthusiasm is evident in recently conducted employees’ survey with 94 % of Advanta employees looking forward to contributing more to sustainability.
“We are focusing on UN Sustainable Development Goals to reach smallholder farmers in regions with high population growth and food security challenges,” said Bhupen Dubey, Advanta Seeds CEO. “However, the true impact can be created by all of us, individually, by embedding sustainability into our daily lives. Every member of the Advanta and UPL team can excel and lead the best sustainable practices and inspire colleagues and communities to make a difference.”
